What Is Offshore Accident Law?
Offshore accidents are one of the most common types of personal injury cases in the United States. These accidents can occur on land or on water, but they usually happen while people are working at sea or on oil rigs. In many cases, offshore accidents are caused by human error or negligence because companies do not take their workers’ safety seriously enough to provide them with the right equipment and training needed to prevent serious injuries from occurring during normal operations.
When an offshore accident occurs, it is important to contact an experienced attorney who can help you determine whether or not your employer is liable for any damages resulting from your injuries. For example, if you were injured as a result of someone else’s negligence

What Happens After a Houston Offshore Accident?
When someone gets hurt on a vessel that is docked or moored at port in Texas or Louisiana, they can file a claim under the Jones Act or the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA). Both laws provide similar benefits for employees injured while working on boats.
The Jones Act requires that all crew members aboard vessels owned by U.S.-based companies be paid at least minimum wage and receive overtime wages when they work more than 40 hours per week. It also requires employers to pay workers’ compensation insurance to cover any injuries sustained while working on their vessels. The law applies to all U.S.-flagged vessels with more than five employees, regardless of where they are located in the world or whether they are transporting goods between ports in the United States
